Water treatment

Water treatment in horticulture

Water purification in greenhouse horticulture is necessary for healthy crop growth. Clean water with a stable pH value is an important factor that influences the growth and flowering of the crop, in addition to light intensity, temperature, oxygen and CO2, humidity and nutrition. Stolze supplies standard water disinfection systems, but we also design customized systems. As a system integrator, Stolze ensures the complete integration of all new and existing systems and installations within the horticultural business.

Water treatment projects

For many years, we have been helping growers purify their water. Worldwide, we supply and install reverse osmosis installations, ultra-filtration systems, UV-disinfection systems and ozone installations.

Groundwater treatment

A reverse osmosis system removes solid particles from the water, such as salts, lime, viruses and bacteria. In our reverse osmosis system, water flows under pressure, parallel to the membrane surface, with part of the water penetrating through the membrane. Depending on the type of membrane, salts, organic substances and dissolved particles stay behind in the main stream. In addition to salts, bacteria such as Legionella bacteria and viruses are stopped as well. For specific regions where the groundwater contains a lot of iron, an iron removal system is required to treat the iron content in the groundwater.

Treatment of drain water

Various types of water treatment are available in horticulture for breaking down organisms, such as fungi, bacteria and viruses, but also crop protection agents from the newly supplied and recycled drain water and discharge water.

  • Ultra-filtration systems by Van der Ende Group
  • UV systems from the Priva Vialux line
  • Agrozone ozone systems

"Reverse osmosis is a commonly used filter technique in greenhouses for a logical reason. The water is filtered using a membrane. So there are no chemicals involved."
